Wendon was established in 1958 and throughout the decades of its operations has served in important markets such as military (radar, fire control, turrets, gimbals, and other), aerospace, test, instrumentation, off-shore/deep sea, machinery, and entertainment with our ring slip related products and services. Wendon built a reputation for being reliable, consistent, and flexible. It is also the place to go for customers who need complex integration of the following key rotary components: Encoder, resolver, RF rotary joint, or fiber optic rotary joint.
The company was acquired by Princetel, Inc. of Hamilton New Jersey in 2016 and continues its operation within the Princetel Group as Wendon Engineering in Hamilton, NJ. Princetel Inc. is a major supplier for fiber optic rotary joint (FORJ) products that also supplies electrical slip rings. Combining Wendon’s decades of expertise in electrical slip rings with the Princetel slip rings, and Princetel’s innovative fiber optic products, the new operation will be able to serve its existing and new customers with the best technical solutions. The company also partners with key players in the RF, fluid and positioning rotary markets; such as Diamond Antenna & Microwave, so customers can receive the so-called “one-stop” services at Wendon.
Wendon Engineering moved its operation from Stamford CT to Hawthorne New York (near White Plains NY) in late 2016, and then to the Hamilton, NJ location in 2020. The current 46K sq-ft modern facility provides the operation a foundation for further growth. Both employee headcount and revenue continue to grow at a healthy rate.
The new Wendon Engineering team will continue its decades’ tradition as a reliable partner for its customers. The new management also established a much more vertically integrated operation. All engineering design, component machining, electro-plating, assembly and verification operations will be handled within Wendon Engineering. Customers will no doubt experience faster turnaround and more consistent quality and consistency.
